I am so upset! Baby Shayne is sick again!! This is the 3rd time that she falls sick since the arrival of Baby Sylvan. Did I overlook her health? She has not been sick for so long, in fact I can't remember when was the last time she falls sick. Maybe I have spent too much time taking care of Baby Sylvan and overlook on her health.
For the past one month, first was cough n flu for 2 weeks, then it was high fever until 40'c for a few days and now, stomach flu! And the worst thing is I cant take good care of her as I need to handle Baby Sylvan too. It's so tough handling both kids all by myself, been struggling everyday.
I just hope that Baby Shayne will not fall sick ever again.

My little darling, please get well soon...

This Sunday is her first school performance. Can't wait to see her dance on stage..:)

My little princess loves working on my labtop and playing with my mobile phone. I guess that because darling and I are always on our labtops / mobile phone, especially when my darling works from home. Whenever she sees me with a labtop, she will definitely come and insist of having it. She can actually imitate how we use the labtop and will be smiling happily whenever she sees any changes in the screen on the labtop. As for mobile phone, we tried to give her a used handphone (daddy even put in the battery for her) as her personal phone although she still prefers my current phone.
These 2 items keep her occupied at times when I am busy handling her didi...:)

"Breastfeed, Because It Is Perfect"

I simply love this slogan by the Health Promotion Board!

All along, I know that I want to breastfeed Baby Sylvan even before he was borned.
I started latching Baby Sylvan a few hours after he was delivered. It reminded me of the time when I first breastfeed Baby Shayne. Baby Sylvan is a strong sucker as compared to Baby Shayne who had difficulties latching on. I tried latching Baby Sylvan every 2-3 hours and was super happy when my milk supply came in on Day 2. By Day 3, I was having very bad engrogement and blocked ducts that I had to engage a massage lady to help me clear all the blocked ducts. But it was all worth it. After clearing the blocked ducts, my milk supply started to increase and I am able to total breastfeed Baby Sylvan. Initially, it was tough waking up every 2-3 hourly, but my body seems to get used to it or rather I am very determined to do breastfeed that I actually set alarm clock to wake myself up so that I can latch Baby Sylvan as often as possible.
When Baby Sylvan was hospitalized for jaundice treatment, I told myself that this time round, I must stay behind with him and continue to breastfeed him every 3 hourly. The 2 days stay in the hospital was tough and tiring. I need to latch him on every 3 hourly and after his latching, I need to pump out any excess so that the nurses can syringe feed him as treatment under the light therapy requires more milk. I am determined not to give him any formula during the treatment this time round. I am proud to say that I succeeded!
Today is Day 8 since his arrival, and I have finally managed to freeze the very first bottle of EBM...:)
Shall continue latching and pumping to build up my milk supply!

Our little prince, Baby Sylvan Ong, finally arrived on 23rd October 2009, 5:38pm, weighing 3.005kg, 50cm long. It has been a long and fruitful wait for us. Thank god that my prayer has been answered and Baby Sylvan is strong and healthy. Can't help but feel a sign of relief when I first cuddle Baby Sylvan as it been a long and difficult 9 months for me. I started the 1st trimester with very bad morning sickness and had to be hospitalized for dehydration. Then result of our Oscar Test came out real bad for Baby Sylvan, but we decided not to go for any further test and abortion is out of question for me. As the months pass by, we have to keep worrying about our baby's weight too as he seems to be much smaller size. I was told to eat more protein diet food to increase the weight for our baby. We prayed that Baby Sylvan will not come out too early as we dont want him to be a premature baby with low birth weight. It's a miracle that all our prayers are being answered and Baby Sylvan arrived as planned.

Baby Sylvan's birth story:

23rd Oct
1030am: Gynae 38 weeks routine check up. Dr Lee checked and realised that I am already 4cm dilated, which means I am actually in active labour. But the strange thing is I dont feel any contractions coming at all. Dr Lee suggested for me to check in immediately at the labour ward and induced, and estimated that by 6pm, Baby Sylvan will arrive.
1130am: Check into the labour ward at Level 8 and waited for the epidural to be given. Nurses joked that we seems not prepared as very seldom will couple come into the labour ward without any baggages..hehe.
1230pm: Dr came and administer the epidural, further by starting the induction drip.
145pm: Dr Lee came and burst the waterbag, no pain at all as I had epidural..:)
330pm: Nurse checked, 6cm dilated.
5pm: Nurse checked, fully dilated and all ready to push. Nurse taught me how to push and I keep trying. After awhile, Dr Lee arrived and encouraged me to keep pushing. She said this time round, dont need forceps as baby is in right position. After many rounds of pushing, Baby Sylvan arrived on 5:38pm

I am glad that I took Dr Lee's advice to have epidural before inducing. The whole delivery process was painless and smooth as compared to the previous time when I delivered Baby Shayne...:)

Welcome Baby Sylvan Ong,

our 2nd Bundle of Joy

Was it just my little princess or kids these days are more mature?

Yesterday night, my little princess insisted of following her yiyi home and stayed overnight at her place. She cried and whined so loudly that my dad asked me to let her go for a night. Hmm, the problem is she has never spent a night at my sister home before and many times (currently we are trying to prepare her to sleepover at my mum place in case I delivered at night) when we placed her at my mum's place which is just upstair of my place, she will insisted to go home when she wanted to sleep. Was actually quite worried that she will had a hard time at night when I go and deliver our little boy.

Anyway, my mum asked her to ask me for permission to stay overnight at her yiyi's house and she actually asked me. Was quite relunctant to let her go but my dad said just let her go, if she can't sleep, then he will drive her back. Ok, so my little princess wore her shoes and said goodbye to me happily and slept over at her yiyi's house for the very first time.

Suddenly feel so sad as my little princess seems to grow up already and know how to make choices on what she wants. I can't imagine one day when she reaches teenagers age and ask me whether can she stays overnight at her friends home...:p

Its been a long time since I last wrote about our 2nd bundle of joy, Baby S.O. especially since I am so busy handling our little princess. Baby S.O has been progessing well in my womb, and is all ready to meet us soon...:)
So many things have happened during the past one month:
Our maid left us suddenly (after us being so nice to her, she lied and never returned) and left me handling Baby Shayne while heavily pregnant with our #2. Glad that my dear darling has been helping out much more at home these days. Its really tiring handling a 20mth old toddler, a forever demanding job, housework and everything during the last trimester of my pregnancy. Somehow, we managed to cope with it with the help of our family members too.
I am currently at the last lap of my pregnancy - week 38, baby S.O has already engaged and I am 2cm dilated since last Friday. Been waiting at home for signs to go hospital. So far, still no sign yet! Can't wait for Baby S.O to arrive as I am so tired of waiting at home...:)

This is our usual Saturday morning routine:
Wake up early from bed and tried our best to get out of house by 830a.m. to rush over to Big Splash, East Coast. Once we reached there, we will have our breakfast at Old Town White Coffee before proceeding to bring Baby Shayne for her playclub class at Julia Gabriel. Either one of us has to be with her during the class, while the other one will get to enjoy the lovely Saturday morning at Starbucks. It used to be me going for classes with her, but with my big stomach now, its daddy's turn to accompany her for class, which means I get to relax in the Starbucks...:) Realised that daddy does a great job in handling her in class, she continued to enjoy her music time, story time, her snack time and recently she touched the paint! She used to be a little missy who will whine or scream once she discovered any paint on her fingers, but last Saturday, according to Daddy, she actually used her fingers to touch the paint! (Check out the no. 4 that she painted with the marbles. She was supposed to hold the box and shake the box for the marbles to roll, but she actually hold the marbles and rolled them on the paper) Darling and I were so happy with her improvements..:)
Once she was done with her class, we will usually proceed to home for her lunch and short nap before going out for our family activities.
